How these options work

How do I find out if Cut The Lock bought my unit?
Submit a free recovery claim through our site. Include your storage facility name, unit number, and the approximate auction date. We'll check our records and contact you with your options — including whether a buy-back or priority pick is still available.
How long after the auction can I request a buy-back or priority pick?
Both options are available before items are sorted and listed on our marketplace — typically within a few weeks of auction. The sooner you reach out, the more likely we can arrange it. Once items are listed publicly, those options close and standard marketplace pricing applies.
How is the Storage Locker Buy Back price calculated?
You'll pay what we paid for your unit at auction, plus a 25% service fee. That fee covers our labor, transportation, supplies, and overhead. We'll give you the exact dollar amount upfront before any commitment — no surprises.
What does “resale value” mean for POPP items?
Resale value is what the item would sell for on our public marketplace — not inflated, not discounted. You're paying the same fair price any buyer would pay. The advantage is you get access before anyone else sees it.
Are sentimental items still returned for free under these programs?
Yes, always. Photos, family documents, heirlooms, military memorabilia, and clearly personal items are returned to their original owner at no charge — that's the foundation of everything we do. The Buy Back and POPP options apply to the broader unit contents beyond those personal keepsakes.
